Using Low Approval Ratings to Our Advantage

Replace every use of the word “government” with the word “politicians”. For example: “I dont think we need the government to solve poverty” becomes “I don’t think we should rely on politicians to solve poverty”.

I think this is a great idea. People tend to have lofty ideas of government, but politicians are almost universally despised and distrusted. Folks tend to forget that the government is made up of politicians.

Okay, I heard it from the horse’s mouth on Radio From Hell this morning: Salt Lake’s Ronald McDonald House does not receive government funding. Since part of Utah Liberty Alliance’s strategy for promoting statelessness is advocating private alternatives to State welfare, I strongly recommend researching and supporting this organization. I’ve heard nothing but good things, and they get a dollar from me every time I get a McRib (far too often!). In addition to accepting donations, they also have a lot of great volunteer opportunities that enable you to work directly with those in need.

It can be argued that technology is one of the main reasons the liberty movement has made such strides in recent years. Up until just a couple of decades ago, we relied on a state monopoly — the postal service — for the dissemination of our ideas. Now, we can broadcast an idea instantaneously to millions of people with the push of a button.

Smart phones are making it even easier to communicate our message, as well as giving us tools for activism and counter-surveillance.
